I am, once again, updating my resume. It’s not that I’ve been fired twenty times since being laid off six (GULP!) months ago, it’s just that I’m not getting a whole heck of a lot of responses from the other two resumes I’ve tried. And so, I’m trying a new format. Here’s what I have so far.

In all fairness, I’ve only been working on it a few minutes.
Because I am what they refer to as a “displaced real estate worker,” I get a case manager at the One Stop Center to help me get back to work. This nice woman, whose daughter I went to high school with (what are the odds?), gave me a new format to try out, where the job title/objective will go in the “I rock” section and my awesome credentials underneath. I’ll tailor my job experience underneath to what I’m applying for. Should be interesting, considering that I spent the last six years opening escrows, getting payoff figures for mortgages and scanning title reports for liens and back taxes-not to mention calming irate customers down sometimes. Only at the end of my time there did I do things for jobs that I’m now applying for- marketing reports, create correspondence and other stuff. That’s all that matters. I can put it down on my resume.
And so, I’m back at it again. May this resume get me more hits!
Edited: I finished it, and it’s pretty darned good if I do say so myself!
Cheers!
Kim
