This stuff……..

Aveda Foot Relief 125ml/4.2ozis sooo friggin’ awesome. I’ve been using it on my feet (mostly heels) to prevent a recurrence of those painful heel fissures, and I must say, it’s doing the trick AND smells great to boot! I’m sorry that I didn’t know about this sooner, because my heels haven’t looked this nice without a pedicure in awhile. I won this in a box with other great Aveda products at a salon I used to go to and am now putting it to use nightly. I hope this salon that I now go to follows suit and does another drawing! Free stuff is always nice! ;) If not though, I’ll definitely shell out the money for more of this when I run out. It’s either this or a prescription from the doctor. I’ll take this. :)

In other exciting news, I installed my DSL this morning but need some wall filter for where my phone plugs in to be fully complete. So, I’m almost in the 21st century! Not quite though! :)

So until my next post from a high speed connection, I say….

 Until then. :)

YAAAAAAAAAAAWN………

23 06 2008

I am so tired as I type this post. This weekend was just horrendous sleep wise, as I barely got any sleep. It was hotter than hell here in Southern California, which I think is the reason why. The central air conditioning rocked this weekend in many respects, but I found myself having to put it lower than I liked in order to get to sleep. (Talk about a good way to help me to continue to lose weight! I’m sure that needing the lower temperature had to do with my weight.) It seems like I’m in good company though, because when I got into work, the office just seemed quieter than normal. I mentioned to a co-worker that I was tired because I got no sleep this weekend because of the heat, and she said, “Yep, you’re in good company this morning.” Well, at least it’ll be a quiet day. :)

In other respects though, this weekend was nice. I went to a cake tasting with a friend who’s getting married this fall. We tried this place in La Habra that my mom frequents for our birthday cakes. I personally think their designs are very nice.  Happy to lend my palate to the mission of finding the best cake for the big day. :) (Guess I shouldn’t have talked about being too fat in the previos paragraph then! :( ) Not bad, and they even served us Diet Pepsi, my favorite! :)

This reminds me to go get caffeine so that I can stay awake just long enough to get me home this evening….

 Later Gators! :)

Throwing caution to the wind?

19 06 2008

I struggled with something yesterday and came to realize one important thing from it.

I am an extremely cautious person. (Did I highlight the word extremely enough??) That’s not a bad thing, except when you are having a pondering day like I am. :)

I suppose this post goes along with the one I wrote a few weeks back about trusting my instincts. Trusting my instincts=extremely cautious when  the time is right. Make sense.

What if you are wrong though? What if your instincts didn’t pan out this time and you missed one of those God-given opportunities to help out your fellow man?

I guess I’m having one of those pondering days where I wonder these things. I know that He will continue to give me opportunities to grow in Him. I also know that trusting my instincts should never be second-guessed either. Never.

I just want to live my life in a way that pleases God.

Snoop Dogg and me…We be rollin’…{not really}

16 06 2008

It’s kind of funny that the city I live in gets in the news because Snoop Dogg’s wife gets pulled over for a DUI super early in the morning clear over on the other side of the city from where I live. You never see us in the news, except for the rarity like this-oh, and for CSUF winning the College World Series. Oh, such a boring city I live in. :)

Father’s Day yesterday was nice. I went here in Whittier yesterday evening with the folks before the Laker game started. (Yaaay! They won yesterday evening!) I also hit Michael’s by me before Father’s Day dinner. I swear that I was practically drooling while walking down the scrapbooking aisles!! I used to think that Michael’s didn’t have good scrapbooking stuff. I stand corrected big time! Their card making supplies were very, very, very cute!

I have two impending craft shows to prepare for. Which means getting more supplies and actually shelling out for a banner to place across my table at these events. (I cannot believe that I haven’t had one made before now. Oh well. I guess I learned.)  My goal right now is to make five cards a day so as to have a nice big selection for these shows.

Pictures to come of these cards! (:

Dog sitting, strawberry margaritas and ME

12 06 2008

So what have I been up to besides ranting about the ever increasing gas prices, you wonder?

Dog sitting and kicking back a few with the neighbors. Aah, such a hard life. :)

I dog sat my parents’ little Princess Pomeranian, otherwise known as Honey, over the weekend. If you would have asked me about dog sitting ten years ago, I would have told you that you were a nutwad. Give ‘em some food, make sure the doggie door is working, and scram. And now? I hold the dog and make her little paws wave bye-bye as her masters drive down the street on their way to their weekend trip to Newport….

Oh how the times have changed!

I’ve also been kicking back a few with my neighbors. A big disclaimer should be put out there right now. I am not an alcoholic nor do I go out partying every night (or every weekend for that matter…). I maybe have a few glasses of alcohol once a year at most. It’s just amazing though how often I’ve been having a beer with the neighbors lately! :) Association business? Have a Corona! Stopping off at a neighbor’s place to get something done? Tecate it is! I just need to keep in mind that I’d like to hit my weight loss goal before I die, so don’t drink more than one. I never do. Even last night when I went out with four of my neighbors to here, I only had one margarita. Praise the Lord for that, because I can only laugh so hard at one time! :) How much more interesting would the conversation have been among us if we all had more than one drink…. :)

It’s all good though. I am blessed to have good neighbors and love that little princess that I dog sat this past weekend.

 I am truly blessed.
